Gatimaan Express is India’s fastest semi high-speed train that runs between ‘Hazrat Nizamuddin(New Delhi) to ‘Jhansi ‘(Uttar Pradesh). The train takes 265 minutes to cover the 403-kilometer journey from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Jhansi. This train is hauled by the WAP-5 Locomotive of ‘Ghaziabad ‘shed which is the fastest locomotive of “Indian railways” as this locomotive is protected by TPWS (Train Protection and Warning System). The train runs with a maximum permissible speed of 160 km/hr from Hazrat Nizamuddin to ‘Mathura junction‘. After that, it runs with a maximum speed of 130 km/hr towards ‘Gwalior ‘. So I would like to tell you about the history and my journey experience of this train.
